...But What Happens When a Little Becomes a Lot?

It has been over a year since our last post and that sort of thing can really leave a sour taste in the mouth of a blog consumer, but we've got good things cookin' over here in the FORCES laboratory.  That's right, the FORCES artists decided to take a little unannounced break, (sorry, fans!!!) each for their own reasons.  Millie Cindzer had a toe removed, then hiked along the entirety of Highway I-40 just to prove to her sister that she wouldn't be "walking all wonky for the rest of her life."  Richard Tuggz spent the past year in Australia with his hand in an echidna puppet, acting as ersatz mother to a litter of baby echidnas (puggles).  Alana Ponui was in the woods up in Maine. Every day she would row around the nearby lake, Lake Hole. Toward the end of the year she could boast to the few others that lived in the area that she could whip around Lake Hole in under forty-seven minutes, and not even break a sweat.  Scott Rideout stood from a crouching position way too fast and slammed his head into a utility pipe and spent the year in a coma. "It was a good year," was all he had to say about it.  But now they are all back, and all pistons are firing, and the juices of time are flowing toward a bright and productive future!
For all you people trapped inside a cage of ice right now, here is an eery number.  It could be from any of the freezing corners of the world,  and you'd better hope it's not near you.  The first person to write in and guess which FORCES artist is responsible for this piece gets the honor of having their own portrait done by the FORCES artist of their choosing. What a gas, right?

Shitty Feng Shui: A buoy in dark waters

Another old sketch from Millie Cindzer.  She said that she drew this a couple weeks after she gave birth to her first daughter.

Dr. Detective: Private Practice

He was a dark, lean man, who never knew when to quit.  He had the kind of face that haunted you until your eighteenth birthday.  The kind of face that seemed to not even exist the more you stared at it.  He was the kind of guy that would throw you from the roof of a twenty-three story building right onto a pretzel stand and then say, "That pretzel needs salt."  His gloves are clean, but his record is dirty.

Boondoggle

We've all seen them. We all know it's just people scratching backs and money changing hands. Here is a sketch from Millie Cindzer, 1989.

Happiness Is A Warm Sun

Millie Cindzer has donned many hats in her life. She was a park ranger, a copy editor, a hot dog hawker, and a professional hat donner. She is a mother of two, a child of two, and worked on the set of Look Who's Talking Too. Likewise, her artwork has taken many turns. It is here. It is there. Sometimes it looks like it should be up on somebody's refrigerator and sometimes it looks like it should be up on the wall of some stuffy, overgroomed Houston art collector's living room. Cheap and fancy. Fancy and cheap. Chancey? We'd like to think maybe?

Be Very, Very Quiet

Two travelers from a distant land running for their lives. When one finds oneself in a hostile environment alone it can be very difficult to pull oneself together, and these two adventurers are lucky enough to have each other to rely upon. If the lumbering sentinel should happen to spot the two rats-out-of-their-hole then it could be curtains for the both of them, but at least they would both go down knowing that their buddy was right by their side. Then again, what if they get plucked up, dragged back to N.S.C.C. and separated, tortured, and interrogated. Would their loyalty remain steadfast? I'd like to think that it would, but don't ask me, I don't know the answer.

Relaxing in the Dark

Millie Cindzer is a real hoot and she is always busting out of the gates like a springy-snake out of a fake beer-nuts can. Today she brings us a futuristic image that is from the past. H. G. Wells once asked her for the time, and she sure showed him. Outlived him by 76 years! And counting! But herein lies the problem with time travel, what actually happened? Nobody knows! Whatever you do, don't think "rave beats," unless you are currently on ecstasy.

The Males of Yesterday Catalog

Ghosts from Millie Cindzer's mind. Chilling, eh? But seriously, folks, Millie drew these Looney Toons characters from memory. If you were to click-to-enlarge any of the picture files from this blog this should be the one that you click-to-enlarge. (Something to think about while you are clicking-to-enlarge: Do these characters ooze naivete? Do these portraits scream, 'sophistication?' Do these psychic widgets enact violent fantasy after violent fantasy upon one another? Do these people make you laugh? Write to FORCES, Unlimited and answer these questions and you may win a new parakeet!)

Home on the High Plain

A home movie from Millie Cindzer, back from her traveling days. What do you think about THAT contradiction?

HEAD FOR HIGHER GROUND

Here we have a sketch from Millie Cindzer's youth. It really takes a delicate touch to describe a home break-in. The question that is perhaps on all of our minds is, why would someone break into this house? There doesn't seem to be anything of value in it, and the figure pictured doesn't seem to have VIP status. Who can say for sure why people do the things they do. Thirteen Year Old To Climb Mount Everest. Why? Nebraska Law Sets Limits On Abortion. Why? Man Eats Dogs Fur Every Winter. Why?
